Classic design with a long lifetime
Yarns in natural materials
Production at certified producers in Europe
Our ambition is to create your favorite knitwear, that you feel comfortable in and that has a classic and versatile expression. Our name, Önling, means favorite in Danish, so it is an ambition we take quite seriously...
We produce and sell our own yarn, which are produced at family-run spinning mills in Italy and Scotland. Our wool is certified and can be traced all the way back to the individual sheep on the individual field and is of course mulesing-free.
Welcome to Önling’s hand knitting universe
Classic, Scandinavian knitwear design and luxuriously soft yarn
Welcome to our universe of hand knitting and classic, Scandinavian designs. We develop knitting patterns and sell them as single patterns and sell luxuriously soft yarn under our own label. Önling’s own, certified wool is produced at a family-owned yarn mills in Italy and Scotland, and each ball of yarn can be traced back to the individual sheep on the individual field, and we can document that the wool is mulesing-free and that the sheep have had good lives.
At Önling we believe in classic design with a long lifetime, good production conditions and natural materials.
Accountability and design go hand in hand and affects everything we do when it comes to choice of materials, design philosophy, packaging, choosing the right suppliers etc. We believe that the modern, responsible consumer demands the best when they choose their yarn, to ensure that it has left as little impact on the environment as possible in the production process – and we intend to live up to these demands. Both because we can’t help it, but also because we believe that in order for a product to become one of your favorite products, it must be made of good, natural materials.
We provide a complete knitting experience
At Önling you can shop based on a particular design, that you have fallen in love with. You can either buy the knitting pattern for that design or you can buy one of more than 300 knitting kits / yarn kits, which we have chosen for all our designs. We have carefully selected the most beautiful yarn and color combinations for each design, to ensure that it is easy for you to get a beautiful result. In our knitting kits, you get both the yarn and the pattern. You can buy knitting kits for all of Önling’s own designs as well as for designs from other knit designers. For example, we sell kits for almost all of PetiteKnit’s beautiful, simple and popular designs. You can also choose to buy the yarn individually as single balls or skeins. Our trademark is that what we do should always be soft and we love soft luxury yarns, such as mohair, silk mohair, angora, alpaca, cashmere, silk and the softest wool. Our focus is primarily on knit designs for women, but we also have a selection of baby knit. We have designed numerous sweaters and cardigans because they are wardrobe favorites, but also shawls and scarves are high on the list of popular designs at Önling.
