Gauge:
22 sts and 21 rows in PATTERN on a 4.5 mm / US 7 needle = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches
Procedure:
The cardigan is worked from the top down. The first part of the yoke is worked back and forth to shape the neckline. After this, the work is joined in the round, and the yoke, body, and sleeves are worked in the round while steeking stitches are worked mid-front on the body. After this, the cardigan is steeked. First, stitches are sewn along both sides of the steeking stitches, and then the front is steeked by cutting the cardigan open along the center front. Stitches are then picked up and knitted along the front edges for the rib, and the same is done along the neck edge. At the end, the ribbon is sewn along the insides of the front edges, and the buttons are sewn across from the buttonholes.
The first 12 rows of the pattern may require extra concentration. Pay careful attention and follow the description row by row during the knitting of the neckline so the pattern and the raglan increases align, become symmetrical, and meet correctly along the raglan lines.
In the pattern, you will find links to helpful videos describing how Anne Ventzel sew, steek, and sew in the ribbon on the wrong side of the work.
Please Note:
The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state lot number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.
- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
