Knitting kit for Esther sweater in Önling No 20 + silk mohair
Esther is a basic raglan sweater with a beautiful structured pattern in offset rib. The sweater has a really good fit, which will hopefully mean that you will just love wearing this sweater. Fit is absolutely crucial for whether we are happy with our clothing or not, and therefore it's part of a creating a sustainable wardrobe.
Here we work Esther in our rustic Shetland wool together with silk mohair, and the result is a warm, soft and rustic sweater that is very versatile in use.

Procedure: The sweater is worked in the round, from the top down. Stitches are cast on using the provisional, crochet cast-on method to allow adjusting the size of the neck opening after finishing the sweater. Short rows are worked over shoulders and back of the neck to make the back of the neck higher. The yoke is worked with raglan increases, and the yoke stitches are then separated into sleeves and body, which are finished separately. The sleeves are worked in the round. After trying on the sweater for size, the provisional cast-on is unraveled, and the neck hem worked.
Please note:
The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state lot number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.
- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
