Knitting kit for Inge socks in Önling No 18
Inge sock is knitted with a beautiful decorative band of mosaic pattern on the ancle. You can choose whether you want to knit a very short sock or a longer sock and the mosaic pattern can be knitted over just a few rows or used to adorn the entire leg. You can also play with colors and knit with just two or with many colors.
We’ve knitted Inge socks in our luxurious Önling No 18, a soft and durable yarn blend made from 75% wool (non-superwash) and 25% recycled PET from plastic bottles. This makes them both comfortable and strong — a stylish and long-lasting sock for everyday wear.
Note! You will need to find the pattern colors for the mosaic pattern in your leftover yarn scraps! The pattern colors do not require the extra strength of the sock yarn, as they are only used for the leg of the sock. Therefore, you can choose another yarn from your leftover yarn scraps with a yardage of 420 meters / 459 yards per 100 g. You will need 22 meters / 24 yards equivalent to 5 g per pattern color for all sizes.
This kit contains: Önling No 18 for the selected size and color and a digital pattern. The mosaic pattern colors is not included in the kit.
The pattern is a PDF file. Immediately after purchase you will be able to download the pattern directly from the purchase confirmation page. You will also receive an e-mail with a link to your pattern, and the pattern will be available here at the site via your personal account - so remember to create an account :-) Read more about digital knitting patterns here.

Procedure:
The sock is constructed with a classic reinforced heel flap and gusset, which provides both durability and a snug, comfortable fit. The foot is worked in smooth stockinette stitch, allowing the mosaic design on the leg to stand out as a decorative feature. The toe shaping is done gradually for a rounded finish and is completed with grafting (Kitchener stitch) for a seamless result. This construction allows for easy customization of the leg length and color combinations, making it a fun and flexible project for using up leftover yarns or experimenting with contrasting shades in the mosaic pattern.
The sock is knitted using circular needles with the magic loop method, but can of course be knitted with double-pointed needles if you prefer.
Please note: The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state lot number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.
- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
