Iben Chunky Socks knitting kit
Iben Chunky is a sock featuring a simple textured pattern, along with a gusset heel and band toe. The textured pattern continues down the heel flap and across the top of the foot, while the sole is knitted in stockinette stitch.
We have knitted the sock with two strands of our soft and durable Önling No 18, made from 75% wool – non-superwash, and 25% polyester (recycled PET plastic bottles). Knit the socks in one solid color or in two different colors for a mottled effect.

Procedure: The Iben Chunky sock is knit from the cuff, down over the heel, across the foot, and finishes with a rounded toe. The sock is knitted on a circular needle using the magic loop method, but can, of course, be knit on double-pointed needles if you prefer. A sock with a gusset heel consists of: ribbing, cuff, heel flap, heel turn, gusset, foot, and toe.
Please note: The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state lot number in the comment box at checkout. - When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
