Knitting kit for Githa socks in Önling No 18
The Githa Sock is worked in an elegant slip-stitch pattern that creates stripes of tiny textured dots in a contrasting color, running all the way down the leg. The underneath of the sock is kept simple in striped stockinette for comfort. Designed with an easy shadow wrap heel that’s a joy to knit and gives a great fit. This pattern also lets you choose between a classic band toe or a star toe finish.
We’ve knitted these timeless socks in our Önling No 18 — a soft yet durable blend of 75% non-superwash wool and 25% recycled PET from plastic bottles. The result is a pair of socks that are both wonderfully comfortable and long-lasting.
The pattern is a PDF file. Immediately after purchase you will be able to download the pattern directly from the purchase confirmation page. You will also receive an e-mail with a link to your pattern, and the pattern will be available here at the site via your personal account - so remember to create an account :-) Read more about digital knitting patterns here.

Procedure:
The sock is worked from the cuff down, down the heel and foot, and finished with either a band toe or a star toe. It is worked on a circular needle using the magic loop method, but can of course also be worked on double-pointed needles if you prefer.
The pattern on the leg alternates between stockinette stitch and slip-stitch pattern, and this textured stripe pattern continues along the top of the foot.
A sock with a shadow wrap heel is worked in the following order: ribbed cuff, leg, first and second halves of the heel (using twin and triple stitches), foot, and toe. The toe can be finished either as a band toe or a star toe, and both options are included in the pattern.
Please note: The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state lot number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a knitting kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In some cases, however, you will not receive a pattern as part of your order:
If you buy a Yarn kit, you will only receive yarn for the design in question. Yarn kits are only sold for selected designs from external designers, where we do not have the right to sell the pattern. When a kit is sold without pattern, you can always see it in the header, which will say (excl pattern) in the header.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- For a select, few designs from PetiteKnit, we will add a printed pattern to the parcel - but for most PetiteKnit designs, you will not receive a pattern, as they are mainly sold as yarn kits (excl pattern). In these cases you will always be able to see it in the header, where it says (excl pattern).
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
