Yarn kit for Smilla's Sleeves by Anne Ventzel in Önling No 1
Smilla´s Sleeves is a generous and feminine shrug with a simple cable pattern, which is used across many of Anne Ventzels designs. Snuggle up in this cozy alternative to a cardigan or use it with a dress when you are going out.
Choose which size shrug to knit based on the back width measurement. Please note that your size across the shoulders can be quite different from, for example, your bust measurement, so you may need to choose a different size than you normally do. Try on a cardigan from your wardrobe and imagining it without fronts. This, together with the measurements given in the pattern, can help you choose sizes.
Here we knit it in Önling No 1 for a lovely and fluffy result or knit it in an ultra soft and luxurious version in cashmere yarn held together with silk mohair.
PLEASE NOTE:
- This kit does not include a pattern. You can buy the pattern at anneventzel.com

The back and fronts are joined at the underarms and the short body is worked back and forth to the hem og the shrug. After this stitches are picked up and knitted along the armholes and the sleeve are worked down and in the round.

The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state lot number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested.

ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.
- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
