Knitting pattern for Viola sweater

Viola is a beautiful and feminine, light sweater with a delicate stitch pattern, inspired by tiny violets. The circular yoke is simple and elegant, and it fits most women perfectly. This design is our take on a light and classic sweater that suits most climates through almost all seasons. The sweater features deep armholes and is slightly oversize with a positive ease of approx. 5-8 cm (2-3.5 inches). The sleeves are designed to be 3/4 length.

You can either knit Viola in our ultrasoft and luxurious Önling No 2 yarn, with which you'll get a light, yet snug and warm sweater, as No 2 is 100% pure merino wool. See kit in Önling No 2 here

You can also knit Viola in our Everyday kit, in No 12 and No 13, which is a light combination of yarns, perfect for tops, T-shirts, and light sweaters. The Everyday Yarn kit consists of Önling No 12, is a light mix of wool and cotton, and Önling No 13, which is our accompanying thread in cashmere and super soft first-cut lambswool. Knitted together the two threads make up a fantastic combination, as No 13 gives No 12 a softer look, better texture, and firmer structure. Se Viola in the Everyday kit here

Washing instructions for your knitwear
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect. Often it is enough to hang your woolen sweater / garment outside in the humid weather or bring it with you into the bathroom, when you take a long, hot shower - the steam will often be enough to freshen it up it and remove any unwanted odors.

Specifically for knitwear knitted in Önling's Everyday Kit
Neither Önling No 12 nor No 13, is pre-washed when you receive it on cones. You get the best result if you soak your finished knitted garment in lukewarm water for approx. 2 hours. Then wash the garment as you would otherwise with washing detergent for wool, either by hand or on a wool program in your washing machine. Dry it by laying it flat.

Specifically for knitwear knitted in Önling's Silk kit
As the Silk Kit from Önling contains 3 different qualities (linen, wool and silk), we recommend that you always wash your silk sweater / garment by hand, to avoid it changing shape or appearance during wash. The three qualities will react differently to water, temperatures, etc. Önling can not take responsibility for the result if you wash your silk sweater in the washing machine. Your garment made from the silk kit should NOT be spun or tumble dried. Instead, dry it by laying it flat.

We demand a lot from our yarn

We sell yarn under our own label - yarn that is produced in a family-run yarn mill in Italy. The yarn is produced according to organic standards and can be traced back to the individual sheep on the specific field, to ensure the welfare of the animals. All our yarn is off course mulesing-free.
