Knitting kit for Ingrid Sweater by PetiteKnit, Önling No 1

PetiteKnit has designed this beautiful Ingrid Sweater in structured knitting. A classic and simple sweater with many great details and techniques!

Ingrid sweater can be worked in 3 different yarn kits. See related products below.

Here we work it in 1 strand of Önling No 1 (75% merino and 25% angora), which is a super alternative if you want to avoid silk mohair, and get a slightly lighter sweater with great softness and a nice, clear stitch expression.

You can also work it in 1 strand of Önling No 2 (100% merino) and 1 strand of Önling No 10 (70% mohair, 30% silk) for a very soft sweater, which is lighter than the original kit with Jensen Yarn. You get the classic fluffy, expression that is a result of knitting with silk mohair.

See also kit with original yarns, which is Jensen Yarn from Isager and silk mohair. It gives a soft and dense sweater with a clear and visible pattern structure.

The knitting kit contains: Önling No 1 for the selected size and a printed pattern that you receive together with your yarn.

Choose the color and size for your kit above.

Size guide: The Ingrid Sweater is designed to have approx. 20 cm [8 inches] of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be approx. 20 cm [8 inches] larger in circumference than your bust measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed to fit a bust circumference of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm [30½-33½ (33½-35½) 35½-37½ (37½-39½) 39½-43¼ (43¼-47¼) 47¼-51¼ (51¼-55) 55-59 inches].

The measurements for the finished garment are  indicated in the pattern. Before beginning your project, measure yourself to determine which size will fit you the best. For example, if you measure 90 cm [35½ inches] around your bust (or around the widest part on your upper body) you should knit a size S. A size S sweater has a bust circumference of 112 cm [44 inches], which in the given example would give you 22 cm [8½ inches] of positive ease.

Sizes: XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL
Bust circumference: 104 (112) 116 (120) 128 (136) 152 (160) 168 cm [41 (44) 45¾ (47¼) 50½ (53½) 63 (66¼) inches]
Length: 56 (58) 60 (63) 65 (67) 68 (69) 70 cm [22 (22¾) 23½ (24¾) 25½ (26½) 26¾ (27¼) 27½ inches]

Materials: 350 (350) 400 (400) 400 (450) 450 (550) 550 Önling No 1, 75% Merino Superfine Super 100’s Uld og 25% Angora, 50 g = ca. 180 m

You work with 1 strand of Önling No 1 throughout. Please note that the pictures are from PetiteKnits pattern and not worked in Önling No. 1.

Gauge: 20 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in texture pattern on 4 mm [US6] needles after wash and blocking

Recommended needles: Circular needles: 4 mm [US6] / 40, 60, 80 and/or 100 cm [16, 24, 32 and/or 40 inches], 3 mm [US42½] / 40 cm [16 inches] and 3.5 mm [US4] / 40, 80 and/or 100 cm [16, 32 and/or 40 inches]

Double-pointed needles: 4 mm [US6] and 3,5 mm [US4]

Procedure: The Ingrid Sweater is worked from the top down in a knit and purl texture pattern. First, the back yoke is worked back and forth and the sloping shoulders are shaped using short rows. Then stitches are picked up and knitted for the shoulder sections, which are also shaped using short rows. The shoulder sections are then joined to form the front yoke. The front and back yoke are joined at the underarms to form the body, which is worked straight down in the round. The sleeves are knitted in the round from stitches that are picked up and knitted along the armholes. The Ingrid Sweater is worked in a texture pattern, which consists of three different pattern sections, each one separated by an eyelet section.

Begin by knitting a swatch to determine which needle size you need to achieve the correct gauge before starting the project – note that the gauge needs to be correct both in width and height, for you to be able to achieve the measurements in the pattern.

Please Note: The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state LOT number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested.

This knitting kit contains yarn and a printed pattern, which you will receive physically with your yarn. The pattern is NOT digital.

ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING

In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.

In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:

- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.

- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.

- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.

Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
