Here is the knitting kit for a simple and beginner-friendly cardigan, worked on needle size 10 mm / US 15.

This cardigan is great to throw on on a chilly summer evening as it is both soft, light and has a great fit. It is cropped at the waist and a bit oversized, providing about 15-20 cm / 6-8 inches of positive ease (more than your bust measurement), with slightly deep armholes.

Here we knit Chunky Cardigan in 4 strands - 2 strands fine organic merino wool Önling No 4 and 2 strands silk mohair Önling No 10 held together - in 4 different colors. Resulting in a colorful and variegated expression, for the light and fluffy cardigan. If you want a more simple color expression, you can find the knitting kit in 2 colors here.

Worked with two strands No 4 and two strands No 10, a total of four strands held together throughout the work.

Recommended circular needle size 10 mm / US 15

9 stitch markers

Gauge: 10 stitches and 14 rows in stockinette stitch on size 10 mm / US 15 needles = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm)

Procedure:
The cardigan is knitted back and forth, from the top down in one piece. An i-cord is worked, into which stitches are picked up. The yoke is first knitted with increases in the center front and raglan increases on the right side, and then with only raglan increases on the right side. Then the work is divided, and the sleeves and body are finished separately. The length can be easily adjusted to be shorter or longer as desired.

ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING

In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a knitting kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.

In some cases, however, you will not receive a pattern as part of your order:

If you buy a Yarn kit, you will only receive yarn for the design in question. Yarn kits are only sold for selected designs from external designers, where we do not have the right to sell the pattern. When a kit is sold without pattern, you can always see it in the header, which will say (excl pattern) in the header.

In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:

- For a select, few designs from PetiteKnit, we will add a printed pattern to the parcel - but for most PetiteKnit designs, you will not receive a pattern, as they are mainly sold as yarn kits (excl pattern). In these cases you will always be able to see it in the header, where it says (excl pattern).

Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
