Knitting with light summer yarns
When you are looking for yarn for your summer knitting patterns, it is of course important to find a good summer yarn. We always recommend yarns made of natural materials that help the body breathe and can regulate the temperature.
An obvious and always popular way to go for summer knitwear is of course cotton yarns, as cotton is light, breathable and good at absorbing moisture. Cotton yarns are available in many beautiful and durable colors, they can typically be machine washed - so summer knitting in cotton gives a very useful result.
Cotton can also be combined with other materials, thus drawing on the best from several worlds. We can especially recommend the combination of cotton and linen, like in our own yarn quality Önling No 21, as this combination gives an extra light summer yarn with a pretty melange effect.
Cotton can also be combined with wool, which can be especially useful in the changeable Danish summer. Wool is incredibly good at heat regulation, and therefore you should not overlook the thin wool yarns, when looking for yarn for your summer jumper knitting patterns and more. We can especially recommend Önling No 12, which is a light combination of wool and cotton, available in many pretty summer colors.
