Knitting kit for Babette Sweater by Hanne Falkenberg in Önling No 20
Beautiful sweater with diagonal stripes and an interesting construction. The sweater is worked back and forth in two identical pieces, only the striping differs. The pieces are sewn together with a seam hidden behind the diagonal rolled edge. There are no side seams, only a seam under the sleeves.
The design includes both a shorter version (hip length) and a longer version. It’s important to choose your preferred length from the start, as the length cannot be altered later. Each piece begins with a rolled edge that runs along the neckline, under the arm, across to the opposite side, and down to the hem.
This kit contains: Yarn for the selected size and color and a digital pattern
The pattern is a PDF file. Immediately after purchase you will be able to download the pattern directly from the purchase confirmation page. You will also receive an e-mail with a link to your pattern, and the pattern will be available here at the site via your personal account - so remember to create an account :-) Read more about digital knitting patterns here.

Procedure
The instruction is worked out for both the short model (touching top of hip) and the longer tunic style. It is important to decide on the style before you start the project, as the total length cannot be altered as you work along.
The jumper is worked flat in two identical parts, only the stripe patterns vary. The two parts are joined and the seam is hidden by the diagonal I-cord. There are no side seams, only sleeve seams. The two parts are worked from the neckline and downwards, making it is easy to adjust the sleeve length. Each part starts by working an I-cord edge which runs along the neckline, across the body, under the armhole down to the lower edge. From this I-cord, you pick up and knit sts using a long circular ndl, then work back and fourth in knit sts only.
Please Note:
The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state lot number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a knitting kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In some cases, however, you will not receive a pattern as part of your order:
If you buy a Yarn kit, you will only receive yarn for the design in question. Yarn kits are only sold for selected designs from external designers, where we do not have the right to sell the pattern. When a kit is sold without pattern, you can always see it in the header, which will say (excl pattern) in the header.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- For a select, few designs from PetiteKnit, we will add a printed pattern to the parcel - but for most PetiteKnit designs, you will not receive a pattern, as they are mainly sold as yarn kits (excl pattern). In these cases you will always be able to see it in the header, where it says (excl pattern).
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
