Procedure:
The cardigan is knitted top down. Begin by casting on stitches at the centre of the back, then knit back and forth in stockinette stitch with cables - first over the left and then over the right shoulder. Pick up stitches along the front edges of the shoulders and the back. Then, continue knitting in stockinette stitch with cables, while simultaneously working increases for the sleeves and neck and later for the arm holes. The work is then divided, and the body and sleeves are knitted individually. The body is knitted back and forth and concluded with a ribbing and tubular bind off. The sleeves are knitted in the round with cables and concluded with ribbing and tubular bind off. Finally, pick up stitches for the vertical ribbing along the fronts and the V-neckline. The ribbing is attached continuously whilst being knitted and buttonholes are created at the same time.

ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.
- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
