Knitting kit for Dahlia sweater in Everyday kit, No 12 og 13.
Dahlia is a wonderful, classic sweater with a beautiful, structured stitch pattern, inspired by the Dahlia petal structure. Perfect for all seasons of the Danish weather. We have invented some new increase techniques that you will learn as you go.
Dahlia is easy to knit, top-down, which lets you fit the sweater to your measurements as you go. The design is oversize, with a positive ease of approx. 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) compared to your body measurements, and features deep armholes and 3/4 sleeves.
Designed by Katrine Hannibal for Önling.

(80)80(80)80(80)80(160) g / (1)1(1)1(1)1(2) cones of Önling No 13, 95% first-cut lambswool, 5% cashmere, 1600 m per 50 g.
Please note that for size 3XL, you will get 2 x Everyday Kit (4 cones No 12 and 2 cones No 13), which causes a sharp price increase.
NOTE! The above quantity of yarn is enough to work the sweater with 3/4 sleeves. If you want full-length sleeves, you need to buy 1 extra cone of No. 12 and 1 extra cone of No. 13 for sizes XL and 2XL.
The sweater is worked all the way through with one strand of No 12 and one strand of No. 13 held together.
Gauge: 22 sts and 32 rows/rounds of stockinette stitch on needle(s) size 4 mm / US 6 = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches.
Recommended circular and double-pointed needles sizes 3.5 and 4 mm / US 4 and 6.
Directions: The sweater is worked in the round from the top down. Stitches are cast on using the provisional crochet caston method to allow adjusting the neckline later. Short rows are used over shoulders and the back of the neck to make the neck higher at the back. The yoke is worked with raglan increases and deep armholes. The piece is then divided into body and sleeves, which are finished separately.
Washing directions: The yarn Önling No 12 and No 13 has not been prewashed when you receive the cones. You get the best result by soaking the finished project in lukewarm water for about 2 hours. Then wash the project as you would otherwise do using a wool wash, either by hand or using the wool cycle of your washing machine. Dry flat.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a knitting kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In some cases, however, you will not receive a pattern as part of your order:
If you buy a Yarn kit, you will only receive yarn for the design in question. Yarn kits are only sold for selected designs from external designers, where we do not have the right to sell the pattern. When a kit is sold without pattern, you can always see it in the header, which will say (excl pattern) in the header.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- For a select, few designs from PetiteKnit, we will add a printed pattern to the parcel - but for most PetiteKnit designs, you will not receive a pattern, as they are mainly sold as yarn kits (excl pattern). In these cases you will always be able to see it in the header, where it says (excl pattern).
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
