Yarn kit for Elevation Loop sweater by Other Loopsin Önling No 20 + silk mohair
ELEVATION_LOOP_SWEATER is a sweater designed with an oversized silhouette and an elegant saddle shoulder that carries across the entire back inspired by classical men’s knitwear.
Here we work it in a rustic, yet soft combination of Önling No 20 (100% shetland wool) together with a strand of silk mohair. The expression is light and soft and very durable.
The kit contains: Yarn for the selected size and color.
PLEASE NOTE:
- This kit does not include a pattern. You can buy the pattern at otherloops.com
- The model shown in the pictures on this page are designers own and NOT worked in Önling yarns.
Sizes: 1 (2) 3
Circumference: 124 (135) 146 cm.
Length: 55 (56) 57 cm measured from under the neckband on the back of the sweater.
The sweater has an oversized fit with positive ease of 25-45 cm.
You should make a size where the circumference is 25-45 cm larger than your chest measurement, depending on how oversized you’d like your sweater to be.
Materials:
250(250)300 g Önling No 20, 100% Shetland wool, by Hanne Falkenberg Design, approx. 225m/50g
150(150)175 g Önling No 10, 70% Mohair, 30% Silk, 25 g = approx. 210m.
4,5 mm circular needle (40 and 100 cm)
4 mm circular needle (40 and 100 cm) or double pointed needles in the same size if not using magic loop
3,5 mm circular needle (40 cm)
Gauge:
18 sts x 28 rows with 4,5 mm needle = 10 x 10 cm
Procedure:
The sweater is worked top down in one piece and is seamless. First you cast on stitches at the middle of the back, working flat firstly for the left, then the right shoulder.
Then stitches are picked up along the front and back sections of the shoulder pieces. Then, work flat while making increases for the sleeves and neckline. The work is joined in the round by casting on stitches and the yoke is then worked in the round. Then the work is divided into body and sleeves which are worked one at a time and finished with edges in 2×2 rib. To finish, pick up sts around the neckline and work 2×2 rib. The rib edge is finished with a tubular bind off.
Please Note:
The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state lot number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.
- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
