Knitting kit for Northern Scarf by Lenes Knitwear in Önling No 1
The Northern Scarf is a soft and smart scarf, that can be worn in lots of different ways. Inspired by Nordic winter landscapes and the geometric patterns of snowflakes, the simple colorwork pattern gives it a classic look with a Nordic touch
We knit it in Önling No 1, a luxurious blend of wool and angora, making it lightweight, warm, and comfortable to wear.
The Northern Scarf is a beautiful accessory, perfect for the cold months when you need extra warmth around your neck. It’s ideal for chilly autumn days as well as frosty winter weather.

1 stitch marker
Gauge 21 sts and 27 rows in color pattern on 4 mm / US 6 circular needle = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches.
Procedure
The scarf is worked in the round on circular needles. You may use the magic loop method if working with a longer circular needle. Alternatively, it can be knitted using double-pointed needles (DPNs), if preferred. Begin with a section of stockinette stitch in the main color (Colour A). Continue by working the colorwork pattern from the chart, followed by a longer section of stockinette stitch in the main color. Work a second colorwork section, and finish with a final section of stockinette stitch in the main color. The edges of the scarf will curl naturally due to the stockinette stitch – this is intentional and part of the design.
Please note:
The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state lot number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a knitting kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In some cases, however, you will not receive a pattern as part of your order:
If you buy a Yarn kit, you will only receive yarn for the design in question. Yarn kits are only sold for selected designs from external designers, where we do not have the right to sell the pattern. When a kit is sold without pattern, you can always see it in the header, which will say (excl pattern) in the header.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- For a select, few designs from PetiteKnit, we will add a printed pattern to the parcel - but for most PetiteKnit designs, you will not receive a pattern, as they are mainly sold as yarn kits (excl pattern). In these cases you will always be able to see it in the header, where it says (excl pattern).
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
