What is 'Julemærkehjemmene':
Too many children in Denmark are not thriving. They feel alone and left out. But no one deserves an everyday life filled with loneliness and stomach ache. When children come for a stay in a Julemærkehjem, they get help to find their strengths and build their self-esteem, so they can once again be part of their communities. And they bring these new skills and habits back home after the stay has ended.
Julemærkehjem have existed for more than a 100 years, and they help almost 1000 children every year with a 10-week long stay, with the objective of improving their mental and physical health.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.
- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
