An evening with Helga Isager
The sun was shining through the windows, people wore short sleeves and knitwork was the main focus on the 8th of May, when Helga Isager came by our showroom to talk and show us her new book K (Knit).
30 people had bought a ticket and they were so excited to meet the main character of the night, Helga. She brought along a model who tried on the lovely sweaters and scarfs from the book. It was so inspirati0nal to hear Helga tell about her designs, her inspiration for these and then to see them on.
The book is for beginners, probably not if you are completely unexperienced, but more for those who are knitting their very first sweater. However, as is the case with all of Helga Isager’s designs, it’s all in the details and there’s always something new to learn even for experienced knitters.
After the presentation of the 10 new designs, there was time to try them on and many of the designs were added to people’s “to-knit-list” or bought straightway. Meanwhile, Helga was busy signing books for happy admirers.
There was also time for making knit samples for the different designs in Isager’s gorgeous yarns. In her new book, Helga has emphasized the importance of knit samples.
All in all, it was a wonderful evening filled with yarn and many beautiful knit designs, which we are definitely going to knit during the summer. Here in Önling’s showroom, you can try on two of the designs from K (Knit): the SSK and K sweater, and we hope to add more within long.
