Directions
The shawl is started at the neck and knitted back and forth in knit and purl stitches. Work garter ridges along both sides as edges. And in every 7th stripe, knit a row of holes. The shawl is divided into 5 sections, separated by 4 ‘strands’, consisting of 2 sts each. Increases are made with different frequencies along the different strands and these increases are made with yarn overs forming fine holes. There are also 2 ‘strands’ just inside the garter ridge edges, where increases are made.
The shawl is reversible. It is finished with a fine knitted lace, that is knitted on at the end, along the edge at the bottom while binding off.
Please Note:
The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state lot number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.
- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
