This Emma scarf is the result of our first Knit-A-Long (KAL), it was so popular that the yarn kit and knitting pattern are now available for "normal" purchase.
The Emma shawl is gorgeous - and it’s fun to knit. The pattern was made for knit-a-long and designed to be fun and interesting, so the shawl contains plenty of exciting and pretty techniques that you can play with, such as cables and structural patterns. Still Emma was designed to be aesthetically balanced and wearable. You can wear it as a classic shawl or, with added snap buttons, as a cape. Make it in our super soft and sustainable yarn Önling No 2 merino wool to fully enjoy it - as it was made to be enjoyed.
This yarn kit contains: 350 g of Önling No 2 sustainable merino yarn and a pattern.
The pattern is a PDF file. Immediately after purchase you will be able to download the pattern directly from the purchase confirmation page. Materials:
350 g of Önling No 2, 100% Super soft wool, 120 m pr. 25 g.
Guiding needle size 4 / US 6 circular, at least 100 cm / 39 inches long.
4 stitch markers.
Gauge:
21 sts and 30 rows in stockinette st on needle size 4 mm / US 6 = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches.
21 sts and 40 rows (20 ridges) in garter st on needle size 4 mm / US 6 = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches.

In some cases, however, you will not receive a pattern as part of your order:
If you buy a Yarn kit, you will only receive yarn for the design in question. Yarn kits are only sold for selected designs from external designers, where we do not have the right to sell the pattern. When a kit is sold without pattern, you can always see it in the header, which will say (excl pattern) in the header.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- For a select, few designs from PetiteKnit, we will add a printed pattern to the parcel - but for most PetiteKnit designs, you will not receive a pattern, as they are mainly sold as yarn kits (excl pattern). In these cases you will always be able to see it in the header, where it says (excl pattern).
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
