Knitting kit for October sweater from PetiteKnit
October Sweater is a wonderful, cozy sweater with a relaxed and oversize fit. It has wide ribbed edges in both sleeves and body, and a slit in the sides provides an extra good fit.
Note that the sweater shown in the pictures is knitted in a different yarn than in this kit. Here we knit October Sweater in Önling No 1, 75% Merino Superfine Super 100’s Wool and 25% angora, which makes for an even softer sweater than in original yarns. If you would rather knit in original yarns, you can find the kit here.
The knitting kit contains: Önling No 1 yarn corresponding to the selected size and a printed pattern

Size guide: The October Sweater is designed to have approx. 30 cm [11¼ inches] of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be approx. 30 cm [11¼ inches] larger in circumference than your bust measurement. The fit is oversize.
Before beginning your project, measure yourself to determine which size to knit. For example, if you measure 90 cm [35½ inches] around your bust (or around the widest part of your upper body) you should knit a size S. A size S sweater has a finished circumference of 120 cm [47¼ inches] which in the given example would give you 30 cm [11¼ inches] of positive ease.
The model in the photos is wearing a size XS and has a bust circumference of 82 cm [32¼ inches] and is 164 cm [approx. 5 feet 4 inches] tall.

You knit with one thread throughout
Procedure:
The October Sweater is worked from the top down in stockinette stitch. The first section of the yoke is worked back and forth (flat) to shape the neckline, then the work is joined in the round and the rest of the yoke is worked in the round on circular needles and shaped with raglan increases. The sleeves and body are finished with a wide 2 x 2 rib edge. The rib edge at the neckline is worked from picked-up stitches at the end and folded double. The October Sweater has an oversize fit – knit a size smaller than recommended if you would like a less oversize sweater.
Please Note: The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state LOT number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.
- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
