Knitting kit for Sunday cardigan by PetiteKnit.

We love our Sunday sweater by PetiteKnit - also on all the other days of the week. And we just love the result of knitting the cardigan in Queen Chunky yarn, which is a comfy and thick yarn with a strand of glitter in it.

See the full Sunday series by PetiteKnit here.

The knitting kit contains: Yarn for the selected size and a printed pattern you receive physically with the yarn.

The kit does not contain buttons

Sizes: XS (S) M (L) XL
Bust circumference: 93 (99) 106 (113) 123 cm
Length: 52 (55) 58 (65) 67 cm (incl. folded neckband)

Materialer:
This kit does not contain the original yarn used by PetiteKnit, but carefully selected yarn that matches the gauge:
350(350)350(400)400g Queen Chunky, 75% Virgin wool, 19% polyamide, 6% metallic polyester

Five buttons (ø = 28 mm).

Gauge: 12 stitches x 17 rows in stockinette stitch on 7 mm needles= 10 x 10 cm

Worked with one strand of Queen Chunky throughout.

Suggested needle sizes: 6 mm circular needle (80 or 100 cm), 7 mm  circular needle (40 and 80 and/or 100 cm), 6 mm double pointed needles (dpns)

Procedure:
The Sunday Cardigan is knit from the top down with one strand of Inca Wool and two strands of silk mohair held together throughout the work. The yoke is knit back and forth in rib and shaped with increases. The button bands are knit simultaneously with the rest of the cardigan, so you do not have to pick up stitches at the end. The body and sleeves are knit in stockinette stitch and are finished with a wide rib edge. The sleeves are extra-long. The neckband is folded in and sewn to the wrong side. The button holes are constructed at the end by widening up a hole in the knit fabric (and are thus not worked as you knit the button band); they are secured and shaped by sewing along the edges of the button holes with buttonhole stitches (sewing).

Please Note:

The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state lot number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested.

Washing instructions for your knitwear
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect. Often it is enough to hang your woolen sweater / garment outside in the humid weather or bring it with you into the bathroom, when you take a long, hot shower - the steam will often be enough to freshen it up it and remove any unwanted odors.

Specifically for knitwear knitted in Önling's Everyday Kit
Neither Önling No 12 nor No 13, is pre-washed when you receive it on cones. You get the best result if you soak your finished knitted garment in lukewarm water for approx. 2 hours. Then wash the garment as you would otherwise with washing detergent for wool, either by hand or on a wool program in your washing machine. Dry it by laying it flat.

Specifically for knitwear knitted in Önling's Silk kit
As the Silk Kit from Önling contains 3 different qualities (linen, wool and silk), we recommend that you always wash your silk sweater / garment by hand, to avoid it changing shape or appearance during wash. The three qualities will react differently to water, temperatures, etc. Önling can not take responsibility for the result if you wash your silk sweater in the washing machine. Your garment made from the silk kit should NOT be spun or tumble dried. Instead, dry it by laying it flat.

We demand a lot from our yarn

We sell yarn under our own label - yarn that is produced in a family-run yarn mill in Italy. The yarn is produced according to organic standards and can be traced back to the individual sheep on the specific field, to ensure the welfare of the animals. All our yarn is off course mulesing-free.
