Sewing pattern and instructions so you can sew three, small purses, e.g. make-up bags in reused materials, new or scrap fabric.

You actually get two sewing guides: one for sewing without quilting (black lace) and one with quilting (flower liberty fabric).

At Önling, we are very committed to producing sustainably and reducing waste. The 3 small makeup bags first saw the light of day, because we had some beautiful lace dress remnants from our clothes sales, and we had the idea to recycle the fabric into beautiful totes and purses. As the beautiful lace is made in a strong cotton quality, it is very suitable for this purpose.

One dress has become 4 bags: A tote bag and 3 small makeup bags. You will be able to clearly see when you receive the kit, that it has previously been a dress, as you will receive the bottom part with the beautiful wavy lace when you buy the kit for the tote bag, and you will receive the top part of the dress, when you buy this kit for the 3 makeup bags.

If you have a dress you don't use anymore or one with a small hole or a stain, you can use the sewing guide to upcycle it into these lovely makeup bags.  We do also sell sewing kits in new Liberty fabric for the 3 make-up bags.

We think it's a beautiful idea that we can turn leftovers into new products that have their very own justification and value. This is called upcycling in the fashion industry, and it is something we all need to think more about. It may seem like a small gesture, but many small streams make a large river - and we want to help ensure that that river opens up up into a large, clean ocean!

Washing instructions for your knitwear
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect. Often it is enough to hang your woolen sweater / garment outside in the humid weather or bring it with you into the bathroom, when you take a long, hot shower - the steam will often be enough to freshen it up it and remove any unwanted odors.

Specifically for knitwear knitted in Önling's Everyday Kit
Neither Önling No 12 nor No 13, is pre-washed when you receive it on cones. You get the best result if you soak your finished knitted garment in lukewarm water for approx. 2 hours. Then wash the garment as you would otherwise with washing detergent for wool, either by hand or on a wool program in your washing machine. Dry it by laying it flat.

Specifically for knitwear knitted in Önling's Silk kit
As the Silk Kit from Önling contains 3 different qualities (linen, wool and silk), we recommend that you always wash your silk sweater / garment by hand, to avoid it changing shape or appearance during wash. The three qualities will react differently to water, temperatures, etc. Önling can not take responsibility for the result if you wash your silk sweater in the washing machine. Your garment made from the silk kit should NOT be spun or tumble dried. Instead, dry it by laying it flat.

We demand a lot from our yarn

We sell yarn under our own label - yarn that is produced in a family-run yarn mill in Italy. The yarn is produced according to organic standards and can be traced back to the individual sheep on the specific field, to ensure the welfare of the animals. All our yarn is off course mulesing-free.
