Colorful mystery bag with 300 grams of No 20 yarn, Shetland wool
We have assembled some pretty mystery bags with 300 gr No 20 yarn in 4 different color combinations. Each bag contains 5-6 different colors and you save more than 25% on this bag.
The bag contains 300 g of yarn and there is enough yarn for a multi-colored sweater up to size L/XL.
Inspiration for what you can knit from the yarn in the bag (pattern must be purchased separately):
The brand new Ebba sweater (2 variations, add your own silk mohair scraps)
Katrine's striped sweater
Iridia sweater (add mohair remnants and a companion thread in Önling No 12)
Colors:
You choose which of the 4 different color schemes you want your mystery bag in. The colors are aligned so they match and the content is pre-selected and cannot be changed. Önling randomly chooses which mystery bag you receive in the color scheme.
Choose between:
-Nature
-Orange/red/pink
-Green
-Blue purple
This is the perfect surprise for yourself or a friend! And at the same time you support an important zero waste project. The yarn is the very last of Hanne Falkenberg's original stock of 25 gram skeins of Shetland wool. Since there are no labels on it, the yarn is not good for selling in bulk - however the yarn is still of the highest quality and you save a lot buying this bag.
Gauge:
Önling No 20 knits well in a single thread at 23-26 sts per 10 cm or together with a silk mohair at 17-21 sts per 10 cm. If you want to knit with a silk mohair, you can easily choose one color and knit together with all the 5-6 colors in the mystery bag. In that case the 300 g of shetland wool in the bag will reach further, and you can knit a sweater in size 2XL (you need approx. 150 gr silk mohair).
Stripes & fair-isle
Use the yarn for all your Fair Isle knitting projects where you need some nice color pops. Obviously you can also use the yarn to make stripes and to inspire you, we have collected a number of suitable patterns above.
The price is USD 49,- but the value of the contents of the bag is USD 66,- so you save more than 25%.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect. Often it is enough to hang your woolen sweater / garment outside in the humid weather or bring it with you into the bathroom, when you take a long, hot shower - the steam will often be enough to freshen it up it and remove any unwanted odors.
Specifically for knitwear knitted in Önling's Everyday Kit
Neither Önling No 12 nor No 13, is pre-washed when you receive it on cones. You get the best result if you soak your finished knitted garment in lukewarm water for approx. 2 hours. Then wash the garment as you would otherwise with washing detergent for wool, either by hand or on a wool program in your washing machine. Dry it by laying it flat.
Specifically for knitwear knitted in Önling's Silk kit
As the Silk Kit from Önling contains 3 different qualities (linen, wool and silk), we recommend that you always wash your silk sweater / garment by hand, to avoid it changing shape or appearance during wash. The three qualities will react differently to water, temperatures, etc. Önling can not take responsibility for the result if you wash your silk sweater in the washing machine. Your garment made from the silk kit should NOT be spun or tumble dried. Instead, dry it by laying it flat.
