Please note: As the yarn is on clearance sale, unfortunately we cannot guarantee that we can deliver two identical lot numbers of each type of yarn. But as you knit three strands together, this should not be visible.
Önling's popular Silk kit is a unique yarn combination, created by knitting one strand of each of the following three yarn qualities together:
- Önling No 6, 100% tussah silk
- Önling No 7, 100% linen
- Önling No 8, 100% merino wool
When these three qualities are worked together, you get a luxurious and light result with a pretty and interesting color mix. The kit is very suitable for light blouses, t-shirts and dresses.
What is in a Silk Kit?
In the Silk Kit you receive 2 cones of Önling No 6 (silk), 2 cones of Önling No 7 (linen) and 1 cone of No 8 (merino wool). In total the silk kit contains just over 300 g of yarn and that is enough for a sweater with long sleeves up to size 3XL.
Weight: 3 strands = Light
With your purchase of a Silk kit, you can choose a free knitting patterns to be used for the Silk kit. See which free patterns you can choose between here.
You must choose the colors of the three yarns yourself - you can find inspiration in the pictures and in the tables below, where you can see examples of e.g. blue, neutral and golden color schemes.

We recommend that you wash your silk sweater by hand to avoid it changing shape or appearance in the wash. Do not spin or tumble dry. Dry it by laying it flat.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.
- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
