Knitting kit for Exit sweater in Önling No 2

In 2020, Hanne Falkenberg retired and sold her company, Hanne Falkenberg Design, to Önling. As part of this transition, her adult children entrusted us with a very special sweater—the last one Hanne had knitted herself. The sweater came without notes, as Hanne never got the chance to write down the pattern, but it was her wish for it to be called Exit Sweater, marking her exit from the knitting world.

Exit Sweater will be the absolute final new release from the iconic designer Hanne Falkenberg. Based on her original sweater, Katrine Hannibal and the Önling team interpreted and created a new version with an updated fit. After careful design and testing, Exit Sweater now stands as a beautiful tribute to Hanne Falkenberg’s long and remarkable career as a knitting designer. A chapter in Danish knitting history comes to a close, and we invite you to join us in celebrating Hanne Falkenberg’s outstanding contributions to the world of knitting.

The sweater features a classic, square pattern on the front and back, combined with elegant edge details on the sleeves and neckline. It can be knitted in Önling No 20 – Hanne Falkenberg’s classic Shetland wool – or Önling No 2, a soft and luxurious merino wool.

We knit Exit sweater in Önling No 2, our soft 100% merino wool. The yarn highlights the beautiful stitch pattern, well known from Hanne Falkenbergs designs. You will end up with an amazing light and luxurious sweater.

The knitting kit contains: Yarn for the selected size and a pattern.

The pattern is a PDF file. Immediately after purchase you will be able to download the pattern directly from the purchase confirmation page. You will also receive an e-mail with a link to your pattern, and the pattern will be available here at the site via your personal account - so remember to create an account :-) Read more about digital knitting patterns here.

ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING

In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.

In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:

- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.

- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.

- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.

Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.

Önling is born with slow fashion at heart

When it comes to clothing, a long life is a good life. We have spun that philosophy into our products and designs. We want you to be able to create clothes in our yarns, that you'll want to wear until they are worn out. That requires quality. Quality in the materials, in the design and not least in the possibility for recycling and scrap usage.
