Knitting pattern for Merle sweater
This is the sweater that will be a perfect addition to your fall and winter wardrobe, light and sufficiently thin to fit comfortably under your jacket and still make you warm and snug.
The yoke is adorned with fine, simple stripes and pretty ‘bubbles’, which makes it fun to knit it. You can make it with 3/4 or full-length sleeves as you prefer. Merle is a great basic sweater that will go perfectly with everyday clothes, jeans, and your favorite pants. It will have very different expressions depending on the colors you choose. It is worked in our Önling No 15 yarn in 100% Merino Wool. The yarn is sustainably produced in Italy, it is very soft, and you can wash it in the wool cycle of your washing machine.

The sweater is worked all the way through with 1 strands of yarn.
Needles and notions:
Recommended circular and double-pointed needles size 3 and 3. mm / US 2.5 and 4.
Crochet hook for casting on 3 stitch markers
3 meters / approx. 4 yards of contrasting color scrap yarn.
Gauge: 22 sts x 36 rows/rounds of stockinette on needle size 3. mm / US 4 = 10 x 10 cm / 4x4 inches.
Procedure: The sweater is worked in the round from the top down. Stitches are cast on using the provisional, crochet caston method to allow adjusting the size of the neck opening before working the neck hem. Short rows are worked over shoulders and back of the neck to make the back of the neck higher. The yoke is worked with increases, and the yoke stitches are then divided into body and sleeves, which are finished separately.

Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.

Washing instructions for your knitwearWool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect. Often it is enough to hang your woolen sweater / garment outside in the humid weather or bring it with you into the bathroom, when you take a long, hot shower - the steam will often be enough to freshen it up it and remove any unwanted odors.
Specifically for knitwear knitted in Önling's Everyday Kit
Neither Önling No 12 nor No 13, is pre-washed when you receive it on cones. You get the best result if you soak your finished knitted garment in lukewarm water for approx. 2 hours. Then wash the garment as you would otherwise with washing detergent for wool, either by hand or on a wool program in your washing machine. Dry it by laying it flat.
Specifically for knitwear knitted in Önling's Silk kit
As the Silk Kit from Önling contains 3 different qualities (linen, wool and silk), we recommend that you always wash your silk sweater / garment by hand, to avoid it changing shape or appearance during wash. The three qualities will react differently to water, temperatures, etc. Önling can not take responsibility for the result if you wash your silk sweater in the washing machine. Your garment made from the silk kit should NOT be spun or tumble dried. Instead, dry it by laying it flat.
